JPL employs hundreds of engineers working on all aspects of robotics for space exploration and related terrestrial applications. They write autonomy software that drives rovers on Mars, and operations software to monitor and control them from Earth. They do the same for instrument-placement and sampling arms, and are developing new systems with many limbs for walking and climbing.

The lectures that follow elaborate on how these tools developed at JPL can be transformed into a surprisingly wide variety of cutting-edge medical applications on Earth.
